Every term used across this section, defined in one place, alphabetically.

Baseline — A saved snapshot of the schedule at a point in time, used as the fixed reference that actual progress is compared against.

Calendar — The working-time definition applied to an activity or resource, used to convert a duration into real calendar dates.

Chainage — The running distance measurement along a linear alignment — the vertical axis on a time-location chart.

Critical Path (Linear) — The sequence of activities determining overall duration — on a linear project this can also be driven by a location-based conflict, not just logical dependency.

Distance-Time Diagram — Another name for the time-location chart.

Filter — A saved rule for showing only a subset of activities on a view or report.

Float / Buffer (linear context) — The spare distance or time between two activities’ lines before they would converge.

Interface Constraint — A restriction arising from where two activities’ work physically meets, modelled as a location-based relationship.

Line of Balance (LOB) — The broader scheduling technique for repetitive or continuously progressing work. See What Is Time-Location Scheduling?

Production Rate — The speed at which an activity progresses along the chainage — read directly off the chart as the slope of its line.

Resource Histogram — A bar chart, generated from resource assignments, showing loading over time.

S-Curve — A cumulative progress or cost curve plotted against time.

Sector Profile — The definition of the distance axis in TILOS — how the alignment is divided into sectors.

Time-Location Scheduling (TLS) — Scheduling method for linear projects that plots activities against both time and physical location.
